COVID-19 UPDATE Tuesday 24th March 2020

Tuesday 24th March 2020

Each and every one of us is facing the threat of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic head on. Over the past couple of weeks all our lives have been affected dramatically by this virus and with the latest announcement from UK Government that people must stay at home to save lives, now more than ever will people have to rely on the wonderful NHS and other Key Workers and Essential Businesses.

We have taken the recommended steps from Government in order to protect our valued employees, their families and our customers during this pandemic. Ensuring regular hand washing, observing the 2 metre rule when colleagues are working together and frequent health monitoring, some remote working where possible and as such are operating our services as normal and do not envisage disruption to it.

Carrying out essential work, Whitkirk serve over 80% of the UK’s top ten food and beverage companies, ensuring their food production and processing lines can function during unprecedented demand for food. We provide services such as CCTV / drainage repairs and sewerage removal keeping sites free from problematic blocked drains.

Our specialist teams have experience in the safe cleaning of storage and process tanks of varying sizes and can sanitize them for safe use. We can also provide site de-contamination services and deep cleans during a shut-down or emergency services when an unplanned environmental crisis arises.  We can deal with spillages and drainage issues responsively and rapidly.

Whitkirk take a very proactive approach to service provision and have huge experience in dealing with emergency situations. We were an influential contractor waging the fight against the disease of Foot & Mouth during the crisis in 2001 working for the UK Government.  Rest assured we can help protect your business’s operational needs during this current COVID-19 crisis.

During this period our digital job system has various features we have built into our workflow to help us minimise risk and store relevant information with ease. As part of the daily timesheet when an employee commences work, they are now taken through a health check on a daily basis to confirm they are free of symptoms and are able to work without issue. Customers will not be asked to sign paperwork during this time; our operatives can enter a surname on a digital pad.  We have the ability to take a photo as supporting evidence (if required) and all relevant paperwork can be emailed within minutes ensuring no one has to handle paper documents of any kind thus minimising the risk of transmission.

We have a large resource of tankers, jetting vehicles, curtain siders, supported with a varied fleet of plant and equipment with a ‘can do’ workforce available to businesses large and small. We are also proud to be part of the Bowring Group of Companies and have in excess of 150 HGVs available to assist with any logistical requirements you may have UK wide. We can help support the urgent transport of medical supplies, food and beverage supplies, provide warehouse storage and secure bases for establishment of delivery hubs and arrange waste removal and safe disposal of any waste type across the country.

This pandemic will pass and hopefully our lives will return to normal quickly once again, please do not hesitate to call us on 01347 825637 if we can be of any service or support to you until such times.

Please stay well and safe.
