Answers to questions you always wanted to know (but never dared ask!)

Q. How do I know when my septic tank or cesspool needs emptying?

Your toilets may be struggling to flush properly, a foul or bad odour emanating from around the tank (or inside the house), the tank maybe overflowing.

Q. Do you charge a call-out fee?

No, unlike some contractors, we do NOT charge a call-out fee.  We offer you a simple, fixed price service – no hidden extra – what we quote is the price you pay.

Q.I have restricted access to my tank, is that a problem ?

No problem. Our flexible and modern fleet of vehicles ensures that we can reach any septic tank or cesspit, however tucked away it is.  Vehicles are fully equipped with pipes and couplings meaning that however restricted the access, we can access your tank.

Q. Is my drive is too narrow to get your tanker in?

We do not have to back onto your drive as our vehicles have enough pipe to ensure that a tank can be emptied without the hassle of maneuvering into a restricted area.

Q. Do you know how big my tank is?

Well every tank varies and is dependent on the size of property and number of people using it.  An average domestic tank serving 4 users is approximately 3000 litres in size.

Q. How much notice do I need to give you to arrange an empty?

We do ask for two days notice, but often we can call the next or even same day if its urgent.

Q. I think my septic tank needs servicing, can you do this for me ?

Although we can jet your drains to clear any debris or blockages, we do not offer a service package.  We can however recommend a reliable local service contractor who we work closely with.

Q. I will be out at work all day and so won’t be in the house when your driver comes?

That’s no problem.  If you give us clear instructions of where the tank is located, there is no need for anyone to be at home when we call.

Q. How often do I need to have my septic tank emptied?

Obviously that depends on the size of the tank and number of users, but as a rule, we recommend that an average householder has their septic tank emptied at least annually.

Q. I think my drains are blocked and I am worried that I might have a flood in the house; can you sort this out for me?

Yes.  We offer a competitive drain jetting service to local householders at a fixed price – no added extras.

Q. How much does your tanker hold?

We have a number of vehicles ranging from 4000 litres up to 30000 litres.

Q. I don’t want to give you my credit card details with an order as I am worried you can charge what you like once you have them?

We certainly would not do that so we never ask for any money up front or for your credit card details. We let our service speak for itself.  You will receive an invoice from us a few days after we collect your septic waste and all we ask is that you pay this promptly within the 30 day credit period.

Q. How do I know you are disposing of my waste in a correct and legal manner?

All septic waste is disposed of legally at a local Yorkshire Water Treatment Works in line with current environmental legislation.  You will also receive a completed Duty of Care document for every load we dispose of for you.

Q. Do you charge extra for a Saturday?

As long as we have the time to plan a load, we do not charge extra for emptying your tank on a Saturday.
