organic recycling services - that won't cost the earth

Whitkirk Waste Solutions Limited operates several recycling sites in England and Scotland, recycling organic food and drink industry wastes onto agricultural land. Each site is located at strategic and planned locations in order to minimise unnecessary road miles transporting the relevant wastes prior to application and carries the correct consents from either the Environment Agency or SEPA.

Such wastes are a sustainable replacement to artificial fertilisers and soil conditioning inputs and it’s a win-win situation for both the waste producer and the farmer.

Waste streams that can be suitable for this route include wastes from the food and drink industries such as ice cream wastes, beer, pop and also lime wastes and biological treatment plants.

We operate land spread sites nationally, but we are ideally located in Yorkshire where some of the world’s best-known food and drink processing companies operate. As Yorkshire and Humber houses the UK’s largest number of food processing industries and several breweries it makes sense that we focus our land recycling activities here.

With increasing pressure to slow down climate change and the introduction of the Landfill Directive, businesses are forced to reevaluate the way they dispose of their waste. New legislation is a compelling issue that businesses cannot ignore and perhaps customers further down the supply chain may well apply pressure to your business to comply with new targets or standards.
