Whitkirk Waste secures business development plan

North Yorkshire based Whitkirk Waste Solutions Limited is delighted to welcome Rys Pawlak to its team as Business Development Manager. The company specialises in removing food and drink industry waste for organic re-cycling onto agricultural land, as well as the tankering of non-hazardous and technical wastes.

Rys brings with him a wealth of experience having started in the industry 30 years ago with Hargreaves Clearwaste in Clowne near Chesterfield. Prior to joining Whitkirk Waste Solutions Rys was General Manager with Viridor Waste Management in Sheffield. Here he was responsible for four separate operations including; collection, transfer station, aggregate recycling and secure product destruction.

“Whitkirk is looking to increase its presence in the waste market by offering innovative and sustainable solutions to the traditional "disposal" of waste”.

Rys commented. “I found Whitkirk’s ethos of high-end customer service and reliability close to my way of working. This year sees major investment with a significant increase in fleet size in order to service the demands of Whitkirk’s high profile customers. These are exciting times as the company broadens it spectrum of waste services to now offer a complete package for all wastes streams, including industrial clean-up services and secure destruction. I’m looking forward to heading up that challenge.”

NEWS RELEASE........

New Acquisition for Bowring Group

Nottinghamshire based Bowring Transport has announced the acquisition of Whitkirk Waste Solutions to complement its existing road haulage operation.

Whitkirk Waste Solutions is based at Easingwold, North Yorkshire and specialises in removing food and drink industry waste for re-cycling onto the land, as well as the moving of hazardous waste such as solvents, secondary fuels and acids. It undertakes work for some of the waste industry’s major companies and, with Bowring’s investment, intends to develop its services to existing customers by diversifying into new areas of waste management whilst further growing its customer base through investment and structured expansion.

The purchase includes the company’s fleet of HGV’s and plant and machinery, which include a specialised fleet of vacuum tankers and tippers, land injection equipment and its staff of 20 who will remain with the company.

David Bowring, owner of the Bowring group of companies commented;” Whitkirk has a good base of existing customers on which we intend to build. Waste management is a new area for us but one which we already have links with through our road haulage operation as there are not many things that we don’t already move! Undoubtedly there will be a period of transition but we hope that existing customers will welcome our involvement in taking the company forward to the next level in its development.”
The Bowring group includes; Thomas Irving, an equestrian store and feed merchants in Chesterfield; B&B Tractors; IFT Services, which specialises in aluminium and steel fabricating and Midland Landfill. Whitkirk Waste Solutions portfolio therefore complements the group’s existing companies extremely well.
