resourceful support

Whitkirk Waste Solutions Limited was acquired in 2006 to complement the Bowring Group's existing road haulage operation. This exciting addition secured the investment and commitment for Whitkirk Waste Solutions to continue to provide a progressive and innovative service to the waste industry, without compromising its enviable reputation for superior customer service.

5 Bowring Lorries

Warsop based Bowring Transport Limited has grown from a oneman operation with a single lorry, to a modern-day multi-million pound transport business, now incorporating Whitkirk Waste Solutions Limited.

In 1951 Bill Bowring had no idea that his small livestock transporting business would flourish into one of the largest privately owned transport fleets in the UK.

The business began with moving livestock for farmers to the markets of North Nottinghamshire, before progressing into general agricultural haulage and carrying loads such as fertiliser, corn and sugar beet.

In 1974, Bill’s wife and their two sons formed the company Bowring Transport Limited. Although the company was still involved in the agricultural haulage market, the business then branched out into the transportation of building waste and materials for road reconstruction projects.

Bowring Transport purchased its first articulated vehicle in 1976, expanding the fleet of eight wagons and fifteen staff.

Today the Group fleet size stands at more than 80 vehicles covering all aspects of specialist haulage from articulated tippers, product and waste vacuum tankers, low loaders, beavertails, rigid vehicles with hiabs, curtainsiders and flat vehicles up to 60ft.

Over the years, structured diversity and shrewd business acquisitions, coupled with organic growth has built the Bowring Group into a wide-ranging portfolio of complementary companies, whose vast resource of HGV vehicles, plant and machinery is readily available to Whitkirk Waste Solutions customers.
